2023 Jack Newton International Junior Classic

The Jack Newton International Junior Classic is a World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) and Golf Australia Junior Order of Merit (GA OOM) event. The tournament will take place at Cypress Lakes Golf and Country Club for 15, 16 & 17 Year Olds and is limited to 208 of the best juniors from right around the world. 

 

All Boys and Girls aged 14 Years or Under must register for the Jack Newton International Sub Junior Classic at Rydges Resort Hunter Valley. 

 

 

Handicap Guidelines

 

  • Any player who meets the Automatic Entry Handicap Index Limit at the time of registration will be automatically added into the field.
  • Any player who does not meet the Automatic Entry Handicap Index Limit at the time of registration but still meets the Pending Registration List Handicap Index Limit will remain on the pending registration list until the close of entries.
  • Should spots still be available in the tournament following the close of entries, those players who were on the pending registration list may be offered a position into the tournament.
  • These additional positions (if any) will be offered in handicap order at the close of entries on Sunday 10th September 2023. 

 

 

Boys Division

 

Handicap Index Limit for Boys entering the Jack Newton International Junior Classic.

Automatic Entry: 4.0

Pending Registration List: 4.1 > 12.0

 

 

Girls Division

 

Handicap Index Limit for Girls entering the Jack Newton International Junior Classic

Automatic Entry: 10.0

Pending Registration List: 10.1 > 18.0

 

 

Any player who does not qualify for the tournament at Cypress Lakes or is balloted out of the event will be offered a special exemption into the Jack Newton International Sub-Junior Classic, where a 15 - 17 Years Division will be created for all those players who have missed out.

 

 

 

Special Exemptions - Players Aged 14 & Under

 

Players aged 14 & Under who wish to play in the Jack Newton International Junior Classic at Cypress Lakes can apply for a special exemption should they meet the following entry criteria.

 

International Players

  • By Application
  • All players must be a minimum of 14 Years of Age and meet the Automatic Entry Handicap Index Limit above.

 

Australian Players

  • All players must be a minimum of 14 Years of Age, meet the Automatic Entry Handicap Index Limit above, AND meet one of the three Special Exemption Criteria guidelines below.

 

  1. Have finished in the Top 10 of a JNJG Major Championship in the previous 12 months

(2022 Bonville Champions Trophy, 2023 A.C.T Week of Golf, 2023 NSW Junior Championship)

OR

 

  1. Currently be placed in the Top 25 of the Golf Australia Girls Order of Merit
  2. Currently be placed in the Top 50 of the Golf Australia Boys Order of Merit

    OR

     
  1. Represented your State / Territory at the 2023 Australian Interstate Series.
  2. Been selected by your State / Territory as one of the representative players for the 2023 Jack Newton International.

 

In addition to these three special exemption categories, the 2022 Jack Newton International Sub-Junior Classic Champions will also be offered a spot in the field at Cypress Lakes.
